Prima Materia: Myrtó Nizami
For two years, Myrtó Nizami was composer-in-residence at Festival Dag in de Branding and Modelo62 accompanied her in this creative process. During this period, she created her piece “Prima Materia”. The work consists of three scenes: (I) Prima Materia I, (II) “Mirror with no Reflection” and (III) “The Last Mask”.
Performance documentation, Prima Materia II by Davids Danoss.
Inspired by Pessoa’s work, in this performance, Myrtó collaborates with sound engineer Siavash Jafari and visual artist Luca Tornato Serafini, both of whom have extensive experience in interdisciplinary stage art.
Myrtó poses the question of whether there really is a ‘self’ in us—whether identity is singular and indivisible, or whether we actually possess multiple identities.
With light, video and spatialization, they give relief to the themes of identity and the wearing of masks. On stage, Myrtó’s team consists of the versatile singer Kristia Michael and members of Modelo62.
