In 2018, we present the second edition of our traveling program Intercity Sessions. This concert in our series focuses on music from local artists.
Samuel Vriezen (Amsterdam) has written Passing as a sort of ‘game’, where the instrumentalists play lines that they pass from one to another, accumulating over time to create changing textures; Bart de Vrees (Amsterdam), with 26 fragments, or doing things in the age where everything has been done, deals with issues such as collage, sampling and the idea of a rapidly changing stream of information, inspired from a graphic novel by Max Ernst. In Une semaine de bonté he cuts up and reorganises illustrations from Victorian encyclopedias and novels; Ilya Zyblat (The Hague), presents a brand new work that approaches the ensemble as a free-improvisation collective, placing the players around the audience to embrace the listeners with sonic gestures; Maya Felixbrodt also presents a new work that includes audience participation.
